Cardiac imaging methods such as Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) are allowing physicians to take a closer look at the heart and great vessels at little risk to the patient.
The choice of which (and how many) tests to perform depends on several things including a patient's risk factors, history of heart problems, current symptoms and the doctor's interpretation of these risk factors. Specific tests depend on the patient's particular problem(s) and the physician's assessment.
